This is the concise English guide. The Turkish edition includes the extended itinerary and planning notes.

The palace in brief

According to National Palaces, the present palace and additional buildings were commissioned under Sultan Abdülaziz in 1863–1865. Its use as a summer residence and state guest house makes it interesting as a place of reception and representation as well as a home.

What to notice inside

Look at rooms as connected spaces rather than decoration alone. Window directions, light and transitions between halls are part of the experience. Follow staff instructions for photography and movement, and do not assume every section is open.

Check tickets and opening days first

Check the current National Palaces page for opening days, ticket-office closing time, holiday exceptions and ticket coverage. An open ticket office does not mean you will have time to see everything if you arrive late. The official visitor link below is more useful than a price that may change.

Leave time for the grounds and surroundings

Explore the garden areas that are open, following entrance guidance. Consider steps and gradients alongside your own mobility needs. A short food or drink break after the palace gives you time to plan the return without rushing.

If adding Kuzguncuk, do not treat the two visits as one uninterrupted walk. Compare transport options separately and prioritise the palace booking. With only a few hours available, choosing just one may be more enjoyable.
